The Draw

Imperial is a hot new NYC club that has managed to do something that a lot of venues try, but hardly ever accomplish.  It combines a very grungy, very "street" interior, complete with graffiti on the walls, a skateboard mini halfpipe in the back, and 40s sold at the bar (have yet to buy one there, but it's a safe bet they are overpriced lol), with a more chique environment, as evidenced by it's well dressed crowd and frequent celebrity sightings.

So if you're willing to try something new, hit up Imperial and you won't be disappointed. Also, while its still somewhat new and building rep, they do small open bars for early arrivals, so keep an eye out for that. Open bars are definitely a recession buster (not to mention a liver buster ^_^)

Thursday night really brings out the celebs, from Cassie, Ray J, Cam'Ron, Funkmaster Flex, the list goes on, but there is always someone there. But how do you make sense of all this madness?

Introducing Eddy Shades - this man is an absolute triple thread - promoter, photographer, nuclear physicist. Ok, while I'm not sure about the last one, i wouldn't be surprised, because Eddie handles all his business with near pinpoint precision.  Now only will contacting him guarantee you a spot in Imperial, but,  it's very likely that you can get your picture taken with your favorite celebs and have it posted up on his site. Saturday

Yep, you guessed it, Evan and Matvey, my superstar promoters behind Marquee Friday and M2 Saturday are expanding their Saturday to include Imperial as well. What’s there to say? NYC Health Department looks to snatch permits from 5 clubs for violating smoking bans

See, this is why we can’t have nice things.  The New York Daily News reports that 5 NYC nightclubs – M2 Ultralounge, The Box, Southside, Lit Lounge and Imperial – might have their food and beverage permits revoked because they were all caught in an undercover sting. And what is the undercover sting about?

Smoking. Yes, smoking. The health department sent out undercover workers to these locations to see if the clubs were doing anything to enforce the city’s smoking bans. And all of those clubs allegedly have people lighting up repeatedly in full view of not only the undercover workers, but a large number of the club’s staff. In fact, the undercover workers found bathroom attendants at M2 selling “looseys” (single cigarettes for the uninformed).

And another kicker – the New York Daily News interviewed the owner of South Side who mentioned that his was a no smoking establishment. And to prove it – the daily news pulled out a picture taken from the club’s site – which clearly showed people smoking. (the club’s site is down right now, apparently people do not know how to remove a simple picture).

Now, I really could care less either way about the smoking ban in NYC. But rules are rules, this isn’t Vietnam, so if you don’t follow them expect this shit to happen.

However now I am soo tempted to play a new game every time I go out – “spot the undercover health department worker”.

Multiple sources are reporting that Paris Hilton and boyfriend (looking it up now on google, who the hell is this guy…) Doug Reinharddt are now officially  broken up after a huge fight at The Darkroom in LA last night. She reportedly locked him out of her gated mansion and will probably probably engage in her already mastered breakup ritual.

Let’s revue it shall we:

  1. Break up with boyfriend
  2. Cry about it for about 10 minutes
  3. Drink her weight worth in booze
  4. Show her vagina
  5. Have it penetrated by a D list celebrity who you havent heard from in a while.

So, who haven’t we heard from recently? Hmm…. I searched “washed up reality star” on google and came up with the perfect answer. The one man that can turn Paris Hilton into a disciplined respected young lady and give her all the lovin she needs:

Another edition of Home Cooking Thursdays at Imperial in NYC brought out  Cam’Ron, Fat Joe and Funkmaster Flex.

Instead of talking about how awesome Imperial is (you should already know), I gotta mention that Cam’Ron’s new track is absolutely relevant and amazing. When other rappers rap about ice and champagne during the recession, he put out a single that just bleeds life. check it out:

Huge NYC Update Coming Soon!!!!

So in between all the drama and time commitment of moving, I made the time to speak and test out several great promoters around the New York City area, and I was surprised to say that none of them dissapointed.

So, can’t wait to see how to get in to Marquee, M2, Imperial, Mr West, Greenhouse and Pink Elephant on many different days without  any drama whatsoever? Then stay tuned, as in the next few days there will be a HUGE update. Also, I got several other NYC clubs on lock that have yet to have celebrity sightings, but as soon as they do – BAM.

It seems like as soon as I posted about needing a reliable promoter at Imperial, two awesome people pop up for different nights.

Thursday

First of all, we have Eddy Shades for their Thursday night, dubbed “Home Cooking Thursday”. FunkMaster flex is a regular there, and this has been the new spot for celebrity sightings. Last Thursday saw Cassie, before that – Ray J, what will this Thursday bring?

  • Paris Hilton and her boyfriend du jour were spotted leaving My House in LA. My House advertises itself as an “upscale house party” – WHY THE HELL HASN’T THIS BEEN DONE SOMEWHERE ELSE??? Although it would be fun to see it inside, I’m not an LA person, readers, can you help me out? (SOURCEl)

  • Adrienne Bailon and LA Reid were amongst the people partying at Greenhouse in NYC for Grace Miguel’s birthday party. Greenhouse is becoming quite the hot spot, it’s only a matter of time till Andy Dick shows up and ruins it for everyone lol. (Source)
  • Cassie was one of the people attending and FunkMaster Flex was one of the people performing at Imperial’s “Home Cooking Thursdays” in NYC. This place is straight out of a movie, highly recommended (SOURCE – And check out the pic above, courtesy of clutchmagonline.com)
  • A little birdie (ok, not a birdie, one of my readers lol) told me that Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minillo were spotted at Pink Elephant in New York City. This is my favorite love/hate Hollywood couple – he reminds me of 12 pack from I Love New York, and she was accepted to my alma matter, Georgia Tech, but had to be all stiff and win Miss Teen USA.
  • Jay-Z was in M2 in NYC (as well as all over my facebook inbox).  This is the second Jay-Z sighting at this place, pattern anyone?

Better Late Than Never

Yes!!! So after several days of trying to find a new camera, while emailing massive amounts of people, I FINALLY have some pictures from Coco’s birthday bash at Imperial this past Saturday.

NOTE TO CLUB OWNERS: If you want people to show up early, do an hour long open bar. Sure, it was house vodka, but it was FREE house vodka. Ice T looks pimp as always.

First of all I wanted to say I had an absolutely amazing weekend! It’s easy to promote a web site when you have to go to clubs to do it:-) Although at this rate, I’m going to need some business cards.

The bad part of the weekend, however, is that shortly before I went out yesterday, my camera broke in a freakish accident, so I missed a goo opportunity to snap up some pics of Ice T, Coco, Vince Carter and Jay Z for the site. Oh well, if that’s the worst thing that happened to me this weekend, then i had a pretty damn good weekend :-)

And now, for what everyone’s been waiting for.

Saturday, March 21

  • First and foremost I want to mention M2 (formerly Mansion) in New York City. Besides spotting Jay-Z and Vince Carter, I was pretty much treated to the best clubbing experience I had in a long while. It was so good, that my next  post will be a full review of the club, as well as the promoters that hooked up my awesome time in there. I sooooo wish my camera wasn’t broken, but this just means that I get a chance at uploading a pic of Carter’s infamous Olympic poster dunk  ((See Above))
  • Ice T and Coco were at Imperial in New York City celebrating Coco’s birthday. Coco looks absolutely unreal in person, that’s all I have to say about that.  As of right now, I’m on the hunt for some pictures from the event.  Visit my photo submission page if you got one!

  • Kourtney Kardashian (my auto spell check just lit up lol), was at Greenhouse in NYC with her new man. I feel weird about going to a club 2 blocks away from my day job, but apparently Greenhouse is an environmentally sound club so I shouldn’t feel to bad (Source Here). PS – organic farming sucks.
