Unless you were under a rock this past weekend, then you’ve noticed the various Michael Jackson tributes everywhere, all of which is incredibly fitting to celebrate the man’s career and legacy. But what really surprised me, was that in this modern age of negative gossip (some of it perpetuated by yours truly), NOONE mentioned Michael’s faults, or if they were mentioned, they were played down extremely in favor of mentioning the man’s musical accomplishments – heck, even on the internet!
Enter Chris Brown – the singer was set to take the stage at the BET Awards this weekend to pay tribute to the late singer. according to Access Hollywood. Now, we all know what’s been happening to Chris Brown recently, but in this time he was one of the more fitting people to pay tribute to Jackson – he has a dazzling array of dance skills and has even used a lot of Michael’s moves in his shows (check youtube if you don’t believe me), so if the public and the news media were willing to look y Michael Jackson’s alleged indiscretions, then they were probably going to be more than willing to give Chris Brown a second chance too.
Yet – at the BET awards there was no Chris Brown performance? What happened? And then, as always, twitter provided an answer as one of Chris Brown’s backup dancers posted this:
This would explain the absense of Chris Brown, as Jay continues his mini war with Chris Brown. Remember, this is the same guy that allegedly said that Chris Brown was “a walking dead man”. So let the debate begin – did Jay-Z do a good thing? Or was Jay-Z being a dick? Tell me what you think:-)
